Q and A: How Do I Wash My Wetsuit?

First of all, NOT in the washing machine. All it will do is float to the top or damage the suit under the agitator.

The best choice is to use a cleaner designed especially for wetsuits. These will have cleaners and chemicals designed to not damage the wetsuit materials.
Hand wash the suit in a bathtub or something similar. Then hang it on a fat hanger (to avoid damaging the neoprene) to dry. After the suit is dry, either hang it or store it rolled up gently. Always store your suit right side out. Never hang a wetsuit on a thin hanger or fold a wetsuit. Of course, never dry a wetsuit in a dryer. I suggest that you do not even tumble a suit in a dryer with no heat.

For odors or post dive care we suggest using an enzymatic cleaner. These remove the odors that accumulate in a suit. At the store we mix some of the enzyme cleaners in a spray bottle for spot application.
